TATMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Mr. Tatman was an original member of the Board of Directors for San Carlos Apache Telecommunications Utility, Inc.(SCATUI). His dedication and expertise in the field of finance was a huge advantage for SCATUI in the beginning phases and today. His path crossed the San Carlos Apache Community in 1995 when he became an active Board Member of the San Carlos Apache Telecommunications Utility, Inc. He took his role as part of the Board very seriously, attempting to do his best. He was proud knowing that he was part of providing telephone service to the San Carlos Apache community. He highly respected all members of the organization and looked forward to the meetings to meet their objectives. San Carlos Apache Telecommunications Utility, Inc. is proud to offer the scholarship program in memory of the late Don A. Tatman. SCATUI will award the selected students a $1,000.00 scholarship to an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university. Applying $500.00 to each semester directly to the school administration office.

	2008 Scholarship Recipient San Carlos Apache Telecommunications Utility, Inc. is proud to announced the recipient of the 2008 Don A. Tatman Memorial Scholarship. Tashayla Rose Moses, a graduate of Fort Thomas High School Class of 2008 was awarded the Educational Scholarship on May 22, 2008 at the Fort Thomas High School Awards Ceremony. Tashayla Rose Moses is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Peterson Harvey Jr. of Bylas.

	Tashayla Moses plans on attending Eastern Arizona College majoring in Nursing. Her future plans include working as a Pediatric Nurse in the new hospital on the San Carlos Apache Reservation.


	2007 Scholarship Recipient San Carlos Apache Telecommunications Utility, Inc. is proud to announce the recipients of the 2007 Don A. Tatman Memorial Scholarship Melanie Chapman and Tanya Stevens, a 2007 graduates of San Carlos High School. The recipients were awarded the scholarship on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at the San Carlos High School Awards Assembly. The scholarship was presented by Jo Lazo, SCATUI Office Manager also in attendance was Rozanna Anderson, SCATUI Customer Service Representative.

	Melanie Chapman is the daughter of Commander and Jennifer Chapman. Melanie plans on continuing her education at Arizona State University. Melanie’s brief summary of her career plans is to become a Professional Golf Manager and/or a Professional Golfer.


	Tanya Stevens is the daughter of Vincent Stevens Jr. and Rozanna Rustin. Tanya plans on continuing her education also at Arizona State University, majoring in Nursing. Tanya plans to come back to the San Carlos Reservation to help the Apache People and be a role model for the kids to show that they can accomplish anything they want.


	Along with the scholarship application students must submit an essay describing the importance of this scholarship, their short and long term goals, and what they would like to be doing in 10 years. The SCATUI Don A. Tatman Memorial Scholarship is in its 8th program year in supporting our youth and their future endeavers. The scholarship was established in 1999 and awarded its first scholarship recipient in 2000. Mr. Tatman was a member of the original SCATUI Board of Directors.
