SCATUI will be sponsoring two students from our community this year to attend the 2008 FRS Youth Tour this summer in Washington DC. The Youth Tour will be held on May 30-June 3, 2009. |

The Foundation for Rural Service’s (FRS) Youth Tour brings 100 high school Juniors from across rural America together for one educational and exciting experience. |

The Youth Tour is opened to high school students currently in their junior year that are enrolled members of the San Carlos Apache Tribe and reside within our community. Last year the delegates for SCATUI were Tiffany Stanley and Kristen Duncan. |
| Interested high school Juniors may pick up an application at our SCATUI office. Applications will also be available at local high schools, or from this link (2009 FRS Youth Tour Delegate Application) Along with the application, students must also submit an essay and attach a copy of their CIB form. |
Essay entries should include an introduction, your ambitions, and essay topic: |
A Day without Telecommunications
(Telephone/Cell, Paging, Internet, and Cable TV). |
All essay entries should be typed and double-spaced. |
The deadline to submit your complete application and essay is at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009. Late and incomplete applications may not be considered. |
SCATUI sponsorship includes: Registration Fee, which covers all expenses incurred while in Washington DC (hotel, three meals a day, transportation, admission to ticketed events, special entertainment, gratuities, supplies and materials). SCATUI will also provide airfare to and from Washington DC. A minimal stipend is also provided. This year SCATUI will also be sending a Chaperone to the Youth Tour. Transportation to and from the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is optional if traveling with the Chaperone to the airport. |
Students/Parents are responsible for any additional cost including but not limited to spending money or transportation to and from Phoenix. |
